Do Toning Shoes Work - September 29th, 2010

Lately, toning shoes have become the latest trend. Everybody is talking about them, and for good reason. Why not talk about them? They talk about scientific technology and so many other things, and they talk about targeting the areas that we want to tone up. It implies that you get rid of cellulite to be able to look good in your shorts and other clothes. There are many reasons for women to using toning shoes. But some would suggest that toning shoes could also become quite popular among men if done right. If you use the right toning shoes, it could give you the better definition that you want, which is a want not limited to women.

So do toning shoes actually work? They use what is called balance ball technology. Balance ball technology puts little bumps or rather big bumps in the sole of the shoe to throw you off balance. In the process, it requires your body to work harder in those particular areas to maintain better balance. If you are already accident prone, you will find that these may not well be the shoes for you, especially if you are running. They do have shoes specially built for running.

But as far as working, the technology behind toning shoes does work. Sketchers were the first toning shoes to be introduced to the market, and they may well still be the best. We have seen with many technologies that many companies start something and maintain a big name because of it. But others improve upon that technology actually making it better. We somehow doubt that this is the case with toning shoes. However, it always depends on the person as to what works best for you.

Can Vitamins Cure Cancer? - August 4th, 2010

I knew of a case of a 17 year old boy years ago suffering from multiple bouts of cancer. At some point, he decided that conventional and medical methods were not working for him. So at 17, he wanted to use vitamins to cure his cancer. Of course, doctors fought him and even sued his parents for legal rights to make decisions for him. And while I believe that everybody should have a choice in their own medical care, there is a line. At the same point in time, there was another lady that insisted that she was going to use vitamin C to cure her cancer. It was mild cancer, and it could have easily been treated with proper chemo and medications. But she refused to use them “leaving it up to god.” 6 months later, she died in the comfort of her own home.

So can vitamins cure cancer? You can find out more information about the many benefits of vitamins on www.vitamins.net, and I am without question a serious advocate of taking a daily multivitamin no matter who you are. I do believe in the benefits of vitamins, and I do believe that a healthy diet and exercise program including certain vitamins can boost your immune system, stop abnormal cells in their tracks, and help you to prevent certain problems with cancer. It doesn’t work every time. Some people will develop cancer anyway. But despite what they say on certain infomercials and other advertisements, vitamins do not cure cancer! They are more preventative in some individuals than anything else! And it is extremely irresponsible at best to say otherwise.

When it comes to vitamins and cancer, there have been multiple companies sued for making false claims. It’s one thing to say that your product can prevent abnormal cells and some cases of cancer. But without question, they crossed the line into claiming to “cure” cancer. They are in the testing phases of a new treatment that surrounds a certain B vitamin with poison ivy to fight cancer cells. But that is still questionable and still something you will not find in natural supplements.

Dangers Of ExtenZe - February 8th, 2010

ExtenZ has long been a popular product. They claim that it will help you to get all natural male enhancement results, and you could not find anything better. The question is, do they come through, and what are the dangers of a product like ExtenZ? Does it have any dangers? Or is it a product that works with safety or doesn’t work without side effects for that matter?

This being said, they do have some good ingredients. ExtenZ does have some good ingredients that can help you to achieve male enhancement results in general. This being said, they don’t actually have the right amounts that will achieve greater results in general. This in mind, the simple fact is that in some ways, while it could ideally work, it will not work out. It will not give you any of the results you are looking for.

But what about the dangers of ExtenZ? Is it a safe thing? Does it actually work out in that way at least? Unfortunately enough, they don’t actually have the right ingredients to even keep you safe. Of course, you assume that you are going to suffer caffeine related side effects with these formulas. Caffeine has the right effect, the side effects are unfortunate.

But there are side effects and dangers with ExtenZ that are not necessary by any means or definition. The simple fact is that ExtenZ has an ingredient called yohimbine. Yohimbine will cause side effects as serious as heart attack and stroke. So all in all, it means that it will not give you the results you are looking for or any of the benefits for that matter.

This in mind, we would recommend obviously enough that you look into another product. We would recommend that you look into a product called Orexis. Orexis is an amazing product that has all the right stuff to help you, and we would definitely recommend that you use it instead.

Do Vitamins Prevent Cataracts? - September 25th, 2009

The leading cause of eyesight loss among the elderly, cataracts result from proteins that accumulate inside the eyes’ lenses and from degeneration of the macula, the part of the retina responsible for visual detail. Many factors may contribute to cataract formation, but good eating habits, particularly early in life, can help reduce their occurrence. Particularly important are antioxidant vitamins beta-carotene, C, and E, as well as the B vitamin riboflavin, which seems to help prevent cataract formation. Some of the important foods you should make sure are a part of your diet are spinach, broccoli, carrots, apricots, and pumpkin for beta-carotene.

Citrus fruits, cantaloupe, mangoes, papayas, kale and other leafy green vegetables, and other foods rich in vitamin C. Sunflower seeds, wheat germ, and avocados for vitamin E. Chicken, eggs, mushrooms, low-fat milk and yogurt, and wheat germ for riboflavin. If you are allergic to foods or have any type of digestive problem, you can always resort to a multivitamin. These are a great way to get the recommended daily allowance of the different minerals and vitamins that our bodies are so in need of.

Benefits Of Probiotics - September 25th, 2009

Yogurt has a reputation for being a life enhancing and life extending food. Though no one’s ever proved it can help you live to age 100, there is plenty of evidence that it can help make your years through life, healthy ones.  A traditional cure for vaginal yeast infections has apparently been studied and validated.  The lactobacillus acidophilus in yougurt have been shown to help prevent and treat gastrointestinal and urinary tract infections. A friend of mine was telling me that yogurt has been known to strengthen the immune system. And that it can help with diarrhea, help prevent and heal ulcers, add prevent osteoporosis.

Plain, low-fat yogurt is a great source of calcium; one cup contains about 40 percent of the RDA. We all know that calcium is essential in helping prevent osteoporosis, the bone-weakening disease that afflicts many older women in particular. If you are unable to digest milk, eating yogurt will help you get the calcium you need. The live Lactobacillus acidophilus cultures in yogurt are mostly responsible for the power of yogurt to help prevent infection.

Olive Oil Nutrients - September 19th, 2009

I no longer cook with vegetable oil. I have substituted it with olive oil because of the health benefits. Olive oil helps lower dangerous levels of LDL (the bad) cholesterol. I’ve read that it helps prevent blood clots, lowers blood pressure, prevents heart disease, and is even able to reduce cancer risk. In Mediterranean countries it has been a top healing food for thousands of years. But, in the United States, olive oil was just considered just another fat, no better than butter.

Then scientists began wondering how the people in Greece, Northern France, Spain, and Italy had such low rates of heart disease despite a high fat intake. When they looked more closely at the Mediterranean diet, they found out why; people in those countries have a high intake of monounsaturated fat, almost all of it coming from olive oil, whereas the Western diet is high in saturated fat. Since that discovery, olive oil has undergone a dramatic change of status, from a no-no to a health necessity. Olive oil’s antioxidant compounds protect against cancer. Although it is not yet known why, it appears to be especially protective against breast cancer. So, instead of reaching for the butter, reach for the olive oil.

Celery Seed Benefits - September 14th, 2009

Celery is an amazing vegetable. You may think of celery as the stalky equivalent of iceberg lettuce–very little nutrition. However, unlike iceberg lettuce, celery and celery seeds, are packed with some very healthy goodness–that is pretty amazing since the food is almost 90 percent water. Celery’s diuretic properties have been known for a very long time. By stimulating urine production, celery helps the body get rid of excess fluid and uric acid, which can aggravate joint pain associated with arthritis, rheumatism, and gout. Celery also contains insoluble fiber, which helps move other waste more quickly through and out of the body.

The combination of potassium and sodium in celery are essential to regulating fluid balance, which affects every part of the body. Celery has been used for centuries as a remedy for lowering high blood pressure, and scientists recently discovered why it works: a chemical compound called phthalide helps blood vessels to dilate, which lowers blood pressure. Phthalide also reduces stress hormones, which cause blood vessels to constrict. Celery’s potassium content and its diuretic effect also help prevent and reduce high blood pressure. Don’t neglect to eat the leaves: they contain the most vitamin C, calcium, and potassium. Cooked celery retains its nutrients; if you want to retain its crunch try sauteing it lightly.

Are Mushrooms Healthy? - September 12th, 2009

In Asia, mushrooms have been a symbol of longevity, and the Chinese have used them medicinally for many, many years. The most nutritious types of mushrooms are considered to be shiitakes and maitakes. Asian mushrooms have strong immunity-building powers. Shiitakes contain a compound called lentinan that gets the immune system up and running, strengthening the body against infection and disease. Studies have shown that lentinan is even more effective than powerful prescription drugs in fighting the flu and other viruses. Lentinan may offer protection against cancer as well.

Eating shiitakes is good for your heart. Shiitakes contain a compound called eritadenine that has been shown to help reduce cholesterol levels. There was a  study done where a group of women that ate  three ounces of shiitakes a day for a week was able to reduce their cholesterol levels by 12 percent, which is pretty amazing. Shiitakes and other Asian mushrooms can be used to thin the blood and help prevent dangerous clots.

More and more markets now carry Asian mushrooms, particularly the well-known shiitakes, but if you aren’t able to find the fresh ones, dried mushrooms are a convenient and very nutritious alternative. Another Asian mushroom, maitake, contains beta-glucan, a compound that has been shown to reduce tumors; researchers believe it may be even more effective at fighting disease than lentinan.

Vitamin Capsules Or Tablets - September 11th, 2009

To maintain a healthy body we need to make sure we are getting the necessary vitamins and minerals it needs to function properly. The reason why fruits grow on trees and vegetables grow out of the ground is because this earth was designed to supply we, humans with a food source. I don’t know if you have noticed but when you go into a grocery store now, it seems like 80% of the food is man made.

For example, it has somehow been manufactured, packaged, and is no longer a fresh food. So, it’s a good thing that there are vitamins and minerals that have been created in a supplement form, whether that be in capsule or tablet form, right? I don’t think so. I’ve heard that vitamin supplements can be difficult for the body to digest. When you take a vitamin supplement it seems like the body flushes most of it out. When I was at the health food store, I asked one of the specialists that worked there what which type of vitamin form is better for absorption and she said it was the capsule. The powder form is more easily digested and absorbs better by the body.

Vitamin IV’s - September 10th, 2009

If you aren’t getting enough vitamins and nutrients or if you have been sick lately and are feeling depleted you have the option of going and getting what is known as a vitamin IV. My sister went to her doctor the other day because she was feeling a little under the weather. She didn’t have much energy, and although she was eating healthy she just wasn’t feeling very good. They hooked her up to an IV and over the course of several minutes she was given an injection of several vitamins.

She said she could feel the effects immediately. She described it as having a fuzzy feeling in her head, and a blast of energy surge through her body at the same time. Your body immediately absorbs the vitamins because it is being injected directly into the muscle.  They inject it in your hip muscle and you are the one that actually gets to push the liquid through the syringe, unless you don’t want to do it, then your physician’s nurse will probably do it for you. My sister says if you do it yourself they charge you less. It’s a great way to amp up on the vitamins that your body so needs when you are feeling dehydrated or run down.
